Training on First Aid to Vientiane Fire Station
and Fire Prevention &
Protection Department, 4-6

The LUDMP in collaboration with Lao Red Cross organized a
three-day training course for the staff of Vientiane Municipality and fire
fighters of the Ministry of National Security.
The participants were trained in assisting victims in the
following areas:
1. Basic first aid principle - Casualty Assessment
2. E.A.R. and C.P.R (Expire Air Resuscitation and Cardio
Pulmonary Resuscitation)
3. Fainting, Unconsciousness and shock/ Coma
4. Chocking
5. Wounds and Control Bleeding
6. Burns and Scald
7. Electrical injuries, animal bites and poisoning
8. Broken bones
9. Transporting the patients to hospital
10. Eye Injury, poisoning / chemical burn / airway
obstruction
During the training, the resource person of Lao Red Cross
also demonstrated all kinds of assistance needed by the victims affected by
each types listed above. All the trainees were presented certificate of First
Aid Course by President of Lao Red Cross to certify that they could provide
first aid during the course of such disasters.
The Opening Ceremony was presided by Mr. Phetsavang
SOUNNALATH Director General of NDMO, Ministry of Labour & Social Welfare.
Beside that guests of honor from Fire Department Mr. Sihoun SITHILUEXAY Deputy
Director, Mr. Phomvanh SOYBOUNPHAN Director General of Fire Prevention &
Protection Department also joined the ceremony. Staff of NDMO and Fire
Departrment also attended as observers.
