Training on Fire Fighting and
Fire Rescue for Fire Prevention & Protection Police Department, 26-30 May
2003 at Vientiane
The LUDMP organized five-day training course for the staff
of Fire Prevention and Protection Department. Total 44 fire fighters, including
three women participated in the course. The objective of the course was to
enhance the capacity Lao fire fighters.
During the five-day, the participants were trained by six
Lao trainers who received training in Thailand at Pak Song and Bangkok by Thai
and Australian instructors. These six Lao trainers adapted the course materials
to suit the context of Lao. The training course also included practical
training by Thai instructor Khun Bounrueng SENGDOA.

The opening ceremony of the course was presided by H.E
Inkham INTHAMALY Director General of cabinet Office of the Ministry of National
Security. Other guests of honor were: Mr. Sihoun SITHILUEXAY Deputy Director
General of Fire Department, Mr.
Phaovanh SOYBOUNPHAN Director of Fire Prevention & Protection Department,
Mr. Sommay XAYYONGDETG Deputy Director
of Cabinet Office of the Ministry of Labour & Social Welfare and
also Mr. Lattanaxay KHAMSIDA Deputy Director of NDMO.
